LIBRARY FOR DEGREE STUDENTS:

The Institute library has a valuable collection of about 25,000 text, reference books, Handbooks, Codes and Journals etc.

The library remaining open from 9.00 A.M. to 7.00 P.M. on all working days except on Saturday and other public holidays for transaction of books for students. Bonafide users of the  institute library are:

a)      All teachers of institute

b)      All banafide students of the institute

c)      All other employees of the institute

LIBRARY RULES:

All bonafide students of the institute shall be allowed to borrow up to a maximum of two books. However a final year, pre-final M.C.A. students may be allowed to borrow one additional book I.e. three text or reference books at any time).

All students borrowers may be permitted to retain books by them for maximum period of 14 days without fine the days calculated are inclusive of the date of issue. A book issued to a student borrower may be reissued on request for two consecutive periods of 14 days each provided that there is not earlier demand for the same book. At the time of renewal the book to be re-issued shall be presented physically at the library counter by the borrower personally.

If a student borrow fails to return the books issued in his name on or before the due date an overdue charge of 10 pais per day per book shall be charged up to 10 day of default. The calculation of days will include the date of return. The rate of over due charge will be increased by 50 pais per dew per book for the defaults starting from the 11th day onwards after the due date, till the date of actual return.

If a student borrow fails to return any book issued in his name within 45 days from the due date, necessary steps shall be taken to recover the borrowed books or the current price of the book/ books in addition to special fines as per rules. The special fines shall be charged @ 10% of the cost of the book in the maximum and may extend to 100% of the present cost of the book depending on the books importance to be decided by the library committee.

Whenever the institute decides a physical stock verification of the library, the librarian may recall all books issued to borrowers for a specified period. The manner of such recall may be decided by the institute as may be deemed proper irrespective of the proceeding rule.

The account of overdue charged and similar other collection's made from library users shall be maintained separated by the institute. The funds thus collected shall be utilized for the development of the library.

If a student leaves the institute without obtaining clearance from the library necessary steps shall be taken by the institute to realise the dues, if any from him.

Books and documents which are considered rare shall not on any account be removed from the library premised.

Hand books, rare reference materials, encyclopedia, ISI specification, codes and selected texts and reference books kept in the reserve section shall not be issued to borrowers but can be referred inside the library only.

Journals and magazines are to be used strictly inside the library and those including old volumes shall not be issued to any borrower under normal circumstances.

Private books and personal belonging should be deposited in the property counter before entering into the library.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTION:

A borrower who defaces by writing or causes other damages to a book /journal maybe called upon pay such penalty as the committee decides.

If any body causes damages to the furniture or attempts to remove from the library a book/journal that has not been duly made over to him by the authorized library staff, appropriate action shall be taken  against him.

Conversation and smoking are strictly prohibited inside the library.

Borrowers are advised to inspect books issued to them at the time of issue and to call attention to damage or defacement detected by them. Any damage or mutilation of a book noticed at the time of returning shall be ascribed to the borrower returning the book.

Loss of book /journals shall be reported by the librarian to the Library Committee.

LIBRARY FOR DIPLOMA STUDENTS:

The institute has a separate library for Diploma students under the direct supervision of the librarian. It has 10,000 texts, reference. ISI code and handbooks. Bonafide users of library are:

 1 .      All teaching staff and other employees of the Institute.

 2.       All Diploma students of the Institute.

The usual working hours of the library is from 9.00 A.M. to 7.00 P.M.on all working days except on Saturday and other public holidays. The above working hours may be changed with proper notification. 

It is a closed access library. Students have to get the books issued/return books at the issue counter. However there is a reading provision for student inside the library. The issue & return of books will be made on fortnightly basis. The days of the week for transaction of books for different years will be notified from time to time.

A student can borrow 4 books at a time from the library and shall be permitted to keep it for a .-maximum period of one month. He has to get the book reissued within one month from the date of issue. I f a student borrower fails to get re-issued/return the book issued in his name on or before then due date, an over due charge of 10 paise per day per book shall be charged upto 15 days of default. The calculation of days include the date of return. The rate of overdue charge will be increased to 25 paise per day per book for the defaults starting from 16th day onwards after the due date.

If a student borrower fails to return any book issued in his name within 45 days from the due date, necessary steps shall be taken to recover the borrowed books or the current price of book/books in addition to special fines as per rules. The special fines shall be charged @ 10% of the cost of the book 7, the minium and may extend to 100% of the present cost of the book depending on the books importance -o be decided by the professor in charge of the library.
